
Board of Director Nominations
This year, four positions are available, three for a term of three years and one for a term of two years.
The role of the Board of Directors is to act as a policy board by providing effective governance and stewardship, leaving management to run the day-to-day operations of The Credit Union.
There are five key responsibilities of the Board:
- Establishing strategic direction and regularly reviewing that direction to ensure it responds to the changing business environment in which The Credit Union operates.
- Hiring and delegating authority to the CEO.
- Monitoring performance.
- Communicating with members.
- Monitoring and ensuring appropriate and effective governance of The Credit Union.
In carrying out its duties and responsibilities as described above, the Board will:
- Demonstrate its commitment to cooperative principles.
- Recognize the important contribution that stakeholders, including members and employees, make to the success of The Credit Union.
- Respect members’ needs and interests.
- Respect the dignity and self-worth of all members and employees.
- Respect the communities served.
- Demonstrate leadership and integrity in all business practices.
We look for members with the skills and knowledge to add value to the Board of Directors and who are able to meet the time commitments required by the board and its committees.
Nominees must be members in good standing and be nominated by two other
credit union members.
The following are required for each nomination:
- A written statement from the nominee expressing their intention to run for The Board of Directors, signed by the nominee and the two nominating credit union members . Names and membership number of each member on the nomination statement must be included.
- A current resume of the nominee.
- Nominations must be submitted to the Nominating Committee by end of business March 15, 2010.
