Stop payments are used to return pending pre-authorized debits or cheques drawn on your Credit Union account. They’re effective for 6 months from the date placed and are subject to a fee. Of course, sufficient funds must be in your account to cover the item or an NSF fee will be applied. Stop payments cannot be placed on C.U. payments.
